Artist Statement

I’m fascinated by traces of time and what remains. I’m always experimenting with materiality and the interplay of intention and chance. I paint with acrylic and mixed media, on canvas.

Rachelle is a Multi-medium artist from Minneapolis. She is best known for her richly textured, vibrant works of art featuring a unique combination of unconventional materials. She has been a full time working artist for over 16 years. she has taken a great deal of inspiration from her upbringing in Minnesota and her formal education in Interior Design and Architecture. She has won many national awards for her work, and has exhibited in the country’s finest juried exhibitions, including the annual Fine Art Fair in Sausalito, California and Old Town Chicago. She was chosen to exhibit at the MSP airport’s first art exhibition. Her impressive corporate and private collector list includes the Ritz Carlton Residences PGA Hall of fame player Peter Jacobsen and Harrahs Hotel & Casino.

If you knew me personally, I’d be handing you a bold bouquet and cracking an irreverent joke while giving you a warm, slightly-too-long hug. But since we’re here, I’ll tell you a little about who I am and what I do…

My name is Rachelle LeeAnn. I’m a daughter, a creator, a feeler, a truth-teller. An artist. A storyteller. A woman in the wild and sacred act of becoming. I was born and raised in Minnesota, where the seasons shaped me, the skies taught me to look up, and beauty was not just something to witness—but something to survive for.

My mother has been one of my greatest influences. She has the soul of a maker—turning chaos into order, scraps into elegance, everyday life into something meaningful. From her, I inherited not only my artistic eye, but my ability to create beauty with what’s available. We started from nothing together—building our first art business out of pure grit, love, and coffee-fueled weekends at the farmers market. She taught me that resourcefulness is its own kind of wealth.

My artistic practice began long before I called it a career. I’ve always been a collector of color, texture, and emotion—drawn to anything that evokes feeling. Old books, silk flowers, fabric, paint, paper, light, shadow, silence. My materials may change, but the throughline has always been transformation—turning the unseen into the unforgettable.

For years, I didn’t know that the beauty I longed for could be something I created. I just knew I needed it. Through seasons of grief, reinvention, and healing, art became my way back to myself. It still is.

Today, my work lives at the intersection of reverence and rebellion. I create not just to make things pretty—but to make them matter. Whether it’s a painting, a floral piece, or a ritual space, I want to evoke awe. I want to remind you that beauty is not a luxury—it’s a language, a form of prayer, a reason to stay soft in a hard world.
